All recall records come from the FDA drug enforcement reports, published through openFDA. openFDA data is released into the public domain (CC0) and may be used freely. This site is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FDA.
How current is it?
Our register currently holds 17,898 recalls, with the most recent initiated Aug 5, 2026. The FDA publishes new enforcement reports weekly, and there is a normal lag between when a recall is announced and when it is classified and appears in the data. Treat this as a reference, not a real-time feed.
What the risk classes mean
- Class I Reasonable probability that use will cause serious harm or death.
- Class II May cause temporary or medically reversible harm; serious harm unlikely.
- Class III Unlikely to cause harm, but the product violates FDA regulations.
Important limitations
- A recall usually affects specific lot numbers, not every package of a drug. Always check the lot number on your package against the FDA notice.
- We match recalls to drug names by text, so brand vs generic names and spelling can affect what you see.
